Roughing Spray in the UK

I know there has been a number of threads on Roughing in the forums but im struggling to get an alternative in the UK.

I have tried a number of Roughing bars and sticks and although they work nicely im not the biggest fan of the waxy feel on the cards and the way the wax grips. When iv purchased decks that have come pre roughed they seem to have a dusty/grainy coating which i really like for tricks that involve R/S, I dont get that similar feeling with Roughing Stick/Bars.

Everywhere iv looked it seems to be all about Krylon Matte Finish or Testors Dullcoat however i cant seem to find those products in the UK. Looks like they are specific to the US and not sold over here. If i want to get a can of Krylon delivered for example will cost around £60-£80 ($85-$105) which is crazy just to Rough up some cards!

This is to all the UK folk, how do you Rough cards? Do you use sprays and if so what sprays? If anyone can help me out here that would be great!

I’m in the UK as well and have had the same problem with Krylon and Testors being difficult or ridiculously expensive to get here. I’d try a good quality matte artist fixative instead. Daler Rowney is one option that’s relatively easy to find in the UK, and it gives a much drier, slightly grainy finish compared with roughing sticks. I’d definitely test it on an old deck first and apply very light coats. The amount you use makes a big difference. Too much can make the cards feel rougher than the factory finished decks you’re trying to replicate. If anyone has found a UK available spray that gives the same feel as Krylon Matte or Testors Dullcote, I’d be interested too.
