How old is flourishing?

Hi, im not really in to flourishing and XCM stuff. But i wanted to know how old flourishing is. I was wondering because i was reading a book called "the secret life of houdini" its a great book check it out. But any ways their was a picture that look like houdini doing a card apperance routine with a arm spread on a broken arm, with fattie arbuckle. i know epic. So does any one here know how old flourishing is

basic flourishes are as old as magic... i don't think anyone could put a date on the fisrt fan, armspread, or spring. but flourishes as an art itself, without magic is pretty new, i think the first dvd focusing on flourishes only is showoff by brian tudor, in 1999 i think... (to be comfirm).
devo claims to have done flourishes for more than 30 years.... but yeah, no proof again...
