I have an idea for an effect where I show a deck that's mixed up and possible the spectator shuffles it but then I shuffle it into new deck order.

Does anyone know any ways I could do this?

you could ttly do this easy, accept for the spectator shuffling part... you could let them cut the deck once at a specific part utilizing a breather card.

Here's where you can buy it: http://www.magic.org/store/product_info.php?products_id=345

I don't know if this would work for you, but why come up with a way when there's already an ingenius deck out there that will do it for you. I use this weekly and let the spectator do the cutting. Hope you like it, if not, that's one less person that uses it, good for me. The deck ends up in paired suit order which is the 2nd best thing and to me, even more impossible.

OOh, yeah!! I like the oil & water idea. That used to be one of my favorites. Although with someone else shuffling, there's no guarantee of a "perfect" reshuffle on your part. (Have you ever had someone turn half the deck when they shuffle for example?!! Ouch! Talk about needing to leave outs!) Then again, for THIS particular effect you have in mind, that habit might prove handy... Check it out- 1. Hand them an "inversely faro shuffled" deck 2. Let them do their 180 degree-packet-turn shuffle. 3. Strip (the deck...not your clothes) 4. Faro shuffle, to complete >>>voila! New Deck! 5. Give it back to them and let them have a good cry (if you're sure they won't figure on the stripper, that is) Did you catch the 411 on the Stackview program you can download? That might be worth a look!!! Cheers.
