    Beginner in Card Magic

Heartily agreed - this is super stuff. The Card College 1 & 2 video set (also available as a digital download) is the perfect place for the beginner to master the fundamentals of card magic. I have just posted a more detailed review with information about it here...

Card sleights tutorial DVD recommendations requested

I have now written a full review of Roberto Giobbi's Card College 1 & 2 video set, which I've posted elsewhere on the forum - I highly recommend this video course as a fantastic way to learn all the fundamentals of card magic ...

T11 decks from Target feel like Rider backs... just me?

Terrific post, Lyle. Thanks so much for clarifying about the Thin-Crush option, and how that works; that's very helpful.

T11 decks from Target feel like Rider backs... just me?

Any comment on the above, Lyle? I'm looking forward to some clarification on what you wrote earlier about this.

How long should my cards last?

This struck me too. You seriously have blood on the cards? The big question is: where is this blood coming from?

T11 decks from Target feel like Rider backs... just me?

I figured that all Theory11 decks have matching quality, regardless of whether they are sold in Target or elsewhere, so it's good to get an official word on that. But can you explain a bit more about what exactly you mean when you say that Theory11 decks are "Not Rider Back stock". As I...

    Beginner in Card Magic

I second the recommendation for Roberto Giobbi's "Personal Instruction" Card College 1 & 2 video course. This was originally sold as a set of 4 DVDs, but is now available directly from him as a digital download via his website in 23 individual chapters/lessons for €4.95 each, or you can the...

    Con Cam Coincidencia Review

Shin Lim later performed it on the Ellen show as well: Is the way he does it any different from Paul's original handling? I believe the Killers DVD which included C3 was published later, so it is also possible revised his handling for that DVD.

    Con Cam Coincidencia Review

Does anyone know if this is any different than the teaching of C3 included in Paul Wilson's Killers DVD? Interestingly, Shin Lim performed this routine on the concluding episode of this year's AGT! Here's a clip of his C3 performance:

Mastermind Deck vs. One Way Force?

This is an excellent and accurate summary - well done! Do the Mastermind decks have Bicycle backs? I've seen some negative press on the card quality, and that they don't spread evenly - anyone have experience with a Mastermind deck and whether this was an issue?

    The FAQ (What is Cardistry/Flourishing?)

Yes, the FAQ link no longer works - I don't think I ever had a chance to see it. Here's my attempt to answer the question, with a detailed article about cardistry. Asked & Answered: What Is Cardistry? https://www.theory11.com/forums/threads/asked-answered-what-is-cardistry.52864

    USPS Art of Magic Kit?

Looks like it's a standard USPCC produced deck, with a few gaffs - if the performances/demos are anything to go by. The tricks are fairly basic, but there are some fun presentations (especially the Karate Card), and hopefully it will get some kids interested in magic. Here are the demos with...

Question about the Bicycle Black Tigers

Thanks Zeede. Yup, you nailed it. :)

Question about the Bicycle Black Tigers

"Air Flow finish" is just a marketing label. All these decks are produced by USPCC in basically the same way, and have an embossing and finish that is practically identical. Even a standard Bicycle riderback with its "air cushion finish" will handle the same way.

Card sleights tutorial DVD recommendations requested

I'd recommend that you take a look at the Card College 1 & 2 video instruction course by Roberto Giobbi. Giobbi is an excellent teacher, with real insight into how magic works, and few are better at teaching you the fundamentals of card magic than he is. It was originally sold as a set of 4...

Is the Card College series by Roberto Giobbi a Good Read?

Since my post a couple of weeks ago, I got the digital downloads of the video course. It's terrific, and I highly recommend it as a wonderful companion to the classic Card College books. It can also be used independently even if you don't have the books, and is probably THE resource I would...

new to Cardistry - Tally Ho deck

Sounds to me that you're not doing anything wrong - it's just that you live in a humid climate. Playing cards hate moisture, and this is inevitably a result if you store them and use them in humid conditions. You can probably expect to see that happen with most decks, no matter what the...
