I have looked at Volume 1 of Freeform Mentalism. It's good workable material but be prepared to watch a lot of Peter Turner just talking. He really loves the sound of his own voice! :D But like I said, it's stuff you can actually use.

I would suggest more tape over the magnets that way it slides easier when you tug on it.

This sounds fairly similar to some other effects that have this same plot. But you could have something different. Do you have a performance video of it? That will help in us understanding the uniqueness of your effect and whether or not if it's marketable.

Definitely not familiar with that method. One that is "similar" in that you use a deck you haven't touched is Patrick Redford's ACAAN, Hands Off. I own it, and in the right conditions it can play pretty big. Especially if you perform it exactly how he teaches you to perform it. I'll have to...
