I think what he means is one that visually rises from the near bottom of the deck to the top of a deck, rather than a usual rising card which just rises up from the deck. I don't really like how he has worded it but I believe that is what he meant. Usual Rising Card...

Nayost I don't fully agree with you. Many people just don't learn from reading and just don't keep it in their mind and remember images alot easier, and if he is one of those people who are we to convince him otherwise.

I'd advise you to look at books like Royal Road to Card Magic as I don't know any dvd's which teach the basics.
