    Remembering tricks

I agree with what these guys have said: Practice it and flow into your tricks so that when you perform, you flow into them easily. First off this is a routine. It doesn't sound to important, but terminology is very important! :) Next, make sure you have a patter down to actually justify and...

Need advice on buying a book

The Royal Road will walk you through both. If you want more in depth Card Magic, and a wider variety of palms, pick up Expert Card Technique by Jean Hugard and Fredrick Braue. It is essentially a sequel to the Royal Road, in the sense that it builds off of it. Also, go through some forums...

    Video downloads vs. Books

Also, another thing that books have - books can teach you theory. While theory can be taught in videos, I am sure it is easier to learn it from books, there is more of it available in books, and it can be much broader or more narrowed down to a specific subject.

    Video downloads vs. Books

I know they released Marlo in Spades. It had the same style cover as the others, I saw it when I went to buy RCT over break.

    Card Sleights and Brain Training

It definitely helps you be more aware of everything that is going on. You learn to watch for things as you learn to direct your audience and watch what they are doing. I don't know if it increases plasticity or anything, but I'm fairly certain it helps your brain work out real world problems...

Greatest NFL celebration that never was.

This is great, but for those of us who don't have time, the magic related part starts at 2:17 (It's actually a pretty interesting video as a whole though)!

    Marlo Tilt vs. Bluff Pass?

Not even necessarily the second, I've used it to control cards to the third, multiple to the same spot in the middle, etc.

    Marlo Tilt vs. Bluff Pass?

1st off, both moves can control the card anywhere EXCEPT for the top and the bottom. But you can do things like a top change or a single card pass to get rid of the top card (though I don't know why you would execute the tilt or the bluff pass in the first place then). Second off, either one is...

    Video downloads vs. Books

I like a good balance. Books have more info, and allow a broader range of thinking. However, videos specialize in a subject making it easier to understand. Which one? I thought they already released the third...? Unless im thinking of another one. (Marlo books are amazing btw. Working through...

    street magic

You can pretty much use any trick in the Royal Road, save a few, and transform them into modern street tricks. Also, try stuff outside of card magic too. I would also recommend finding an EDC (Every Day Carry). This could be a gimmick, gaff, whatever you need to use to perform something. I...

Fanning Powder experiences. Card longevity topic

No no no, the cards with the powder will wear down the excess powder that is lying on top over time, thus creating the ball bearing effect inside each embossing. Again, it'll prolly work over time.

Yeah pretty much. Just using the same colored deck and flipping it over.

I agree, The Royal Road is where you should start for Cards. For Coins, check out J. B. Bobo's Modern Coin Magic, or some of Michael Ammar's DVDs

Clipping cards with pinky. I have gaps, its my hands.

For whatever reason, I can't see the first picture at all. However, I think I understand your problem. It is a pinky clip right, not a palm? Try these tips, let me know if you need a better explanation. Your hand looks relatively flat. It looks unnatural. Try holding your fingers together...

Fanning Powder experiences. Card longevity topic

I've never used it, but from what I've read, it is actually mislabeled. Fanning Powder makes the cards clump together apparently, making it better for packet flourishes. I've also read that it is completely useless (though some people say that you have to use it perfectly, and you get a good...

It is 100% practical and easy to do. I've done it a few times I think :) You just need to take the deck back face up when you load the card. DM even teaches this in The Advocate PDF (If I'm not mistaken).

Deck Switch aid (Bulldog clip or similar)

So something like Fracture won't work? Daniel Madison is giving it away for free on his YouTube check the description. You could also try Roberto Giobii' s the art of deck switching book. You can buy Michael O'Brien's Switcheroo deck Holdout (which is the one I think you are looking for)...

How many magicians have gotten into acting in addition to magic shows?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I'm following your argument. What exactly are you saying? Also, maybe it would be better if we started a new thread instead of blowing this guy's feed up with a tangent conversation (if you make one, @ me!).
