Beginner - Should I focus on one discipline?

Variety is the spice is life. This is true for your performances too (to an extent). Think about it, would you rather watch 10 similar card tricks, or a routine with a mental trick, a couple card tricks, And a coin trick.

    Need some ideas!

What about some Ring Magic? I know I recommended Odyssey earlier, but something like a Routine using the moves taught in Reflex by Patrick Kun might be nice.

    Cuts that showcase the display

Alternatively, you could do something that showcases every card, like Anaconda by Bone Ho

Spread and Square - Has it been done?

What he said :D Also, I think you need a bit of patter. The performance got kind of boring, but if you add a story, it gets more engaging. Cut out all the unnecessary things. If I were to perform this, it would be like this: Have a card selected Give them the deck, and have them cut their...

    Food for thought

One of the first things I figured out while performing is that the audience isn't dumb. When you [as in a general "you", not anyone specifically] first learn magic, it's taught at almost this level, trying to make it seem like you are superior to the laymen. In reality, they are just as smart as...

    Effects with Invisible Thread (Loops)

Yigel Mesika has a couple DVD's With Them. Check out the "Inner Circle", it comes with an Animated Miracles DVD, a pack of loops, and the wallet carrying case for loops. http://www.yigalmesika.com/inner-circle/

    Appearing money trick?

There are a ton of ways to do this. First thing that comes to mind is a false transfer. Also, the routine people use with vanishing pen (though it's behind the ear), and then the vanishing object.

    Book on Theory

They aren't books, but Paul Daniels (Rest in Peace) had a YouTube Channel that I ran accross the other day. There are a lot of sessions of him talking about Theory and such, just hunt around on it. https://www.youtube.com/user/thepauldaniels/videos There's a lot of Random Stuff about Paul, and...

    Food for thought

I don't think he ment to do it. Maybe he was new to performing, or just bought one and doesn't normally perform. Normally Fire Wallets work better in a controlled setting with a bit of an intro patter, right? Personally, I would never do something like a fire wallet as an immediate trick...

Whats your favorite deck to perform with....

    Circle Back all the way!

Whats your favorite deck to perform with....

Personally, I carry around Tallys with me everywhere. Their easy, simple, look normal, and cheap. Idk why, I just don't like the back design of Standard Bikes, but Tallys are a great alternative.

    Easy First Impression Tricks

Pretty much anything in the Royal Road, not including the Pass and the Palm (though you can use any other control instead of the pass). However, I think you should be more specific as to what you are looking for.

    best color change?

My personal favorite is a variation on Marlo's Miracle Change that makes it visual. If you know your palms, you can do it surrounded. Also, I love watching FLAP by Hondo Chen (If Gimmicks count) and Shin Splint by Shin Lim (and pretty much the rest of Shin Lim's works too), but I do not own either.

    Cuts that showcase the display

Moves with Fans and Spreads. Also, putting the camera at an angle and holding the faces of the cards towards it (this can be a side angle, upwards angle, whatever).

Whats your favorite deck to perform with....

I think one of the major problems was also that since the design was so simple, it was easy to copy and sell fake decks through ebay and stuff.

Thank you so much! And good luck to everyone in every future SNC!

It is significantly easier to read, but also way more expensive lol (plus he already has the Royal Road)

    HandMade products for cardistry artists

That looks really cool! I've been planning on making similar, though mine would be more of just a wooden tuck case for a single deck. Though now that I think about it, something like this might be useful for carrying around 2 decks at once, especially if you add a clip to the back so it can be...

    Best Cardistry Decks

I would just buy regular bikes, or even regular Tallys, Studs, Bees, etc. The "Classic" decks are probably the best way to go, especially if you are starting. You can make your own gaffs with them, or buy pre-made gaffs. They are cheap, and still high quality. I would start by buying a deck of...

    Remembering tricks

It's available in a lot of places. I believe Brian Brushwood has a video he released on it. Just search for "Scam School 2 Card Monte", you'll find it.
