    Playing Card Facts

The identity of the court cards vary in different places. When i did some research awhile back I found out the idea of giving the court cards identities happened first in France. Although the identities vary a bit between Paris and Rouen. The only thing is what does this all matter unless you...

Cups and Balls Thread - Ideas and Concepts

I have a few favorite routines myself. Paul Gertner's routine is great because he adds the auditory illusion to the whole routine. Its just another dimension to the routine that is just great. My favorite final load as of right now is David Regal and the pouring of the hot chocolate out of the...

Saturday Night Contest - Resolutions For 2010

In 2009 my magic has grown and developed in many different ways. I went from having performed magic once on stage on my university's campus all the way to stepping into the NYC magic scene. In early 2009 I got involved with Modern Magic NYC. I was then hired as a performer for walk around. I...

    The Strike Second Deal

Thumb action is definitely over the top. I would try turning your deck hand to be more open. The last thing is something to think about "The difference between a magician and a gambler practicing is the magician will deal in a pile, the gambler will deal hand." What good is this if you...

What would you say in this situation?

I usually go with the "its magic not miracles" line then turn to the wife and say "but i'll work on getting him to disappear." I'm a demonstrator at Toys r us in times square and I get that question A LOT!

    What if?

I've produced the wrong card before back in the day. I think i did the invisible deck thing or color change. If I fell off my chair on stage I would probably go "Careful over here that was some sudden gust of gravity." Then maybe get up and shove the chair over "Showed him who's boss.." Just...

    Defensive Laymen

I usually reply to any guess of the method with "Don't tell me I don't want to know..." It gets the point across that you don't really want to hear their theories.
