    Spongeball Battle

Wow. I am going to have to disagree with the statement that spongeballs are lame. Spongeballs can get you some of the most KILLER reactions out there. Spectators love them. Any performer who actually uses them will tell you the same. I use them all the time. They are great openers...

    Between 2 Minds

There are a few good effects on Between 2 Minds for close-up. However, if close-up is what you really want to focus on, then I would suggest possibly trying "The Unexpected" by Marc Spelmann and Peter Nardi. There are some great close-up pieces in it. EI by Luke Jermay is also a great piece...

Self Tying Shoelace by Jay Noblezada

That is correct. The method used in David Blaines TV Special is the exact same method from Jay. Jay mentioned this in an interview.

    Flash Paper

There are so many things you can do with flash paper. Whether people admit it or not, everyone has a little"pyro" in them. People love fire effects. Its always good for productions. I actually just started using it with D+M's BURN and it works great. An example would be to place the...

    The Gecko from MJM

I do know that you have to at least wear a t shirt with an open buttom up shirt over it (short sleeved or long sleeved) Making larger items vanish would require a little heavier clothing. Other reviews have mentioned that it is easy to work with.

    Ripped Off?

OH BY THE WAY. I think there are some exposure issues going on in this thread that you all need to be careful about. Just a heads up...

    Ripped Off?

In my opinion, the effect is great. The method allows the corner of the card to appear ANYWHERE YOU WISH! That in itself is amazing. It's the same corner of the same card, no duplicates. If you have to question a method so simple as this one, then maybe you need to go back to the basics...

    Tell me what you think

Not bad. I agree with the sliding advice. Instead, you want to use the "blade" of your hand (the part that runs from the bottom of yoru pinkie to your wrist) and slide the card as you are putting your hand down. You might want to learn a rub-a-dub vanish to add in the routine. Keep it up...

    Ellusionist's Future

Its hard to say. They may have a long list of products lined up. Im thinking that all this Celebracadabra nonsense is going to bring them an entire new type of customer market. I dont want to get into the discussion, but I dont think that Celebracadabra will do anything good for the magic...

Created a CRAZY effect... need a little help please.

I agree. Keep it to yourself for a while. Go out there and use it, Amaze people, test it with live audiences over and over until you have come across every possible solution/problem that might come up when performing. Dont be so quick to want to sell it to a website. There is nothing...

    UltraGaff is it worth it?

Wow! Yes, I think that UG and the DVD's were well worth the price! The detail that went into creating these cards is amazing. The routines/effects explained for the cards are also amazing. Danny and Wayne mention that they have only scratched the surface with the endless possibilities for...

    SAW substitutes

I honestly cant think of anything else to use. The "thing" that is used is actually the best of its kind for the effect. Nothing else that I know of will give you the same results. It could also depend on your skin type. The tips on the dvd about shaving are true. You need to avoid...

    Mentalism

Your best bet to get started is going to be with 13 steps. It is a great book and for good reason. Anyone starting out in mentalism needs to read this. Other great books include: T.A. Waters - Mind, Myth and Magick (i would not read this one until you read 13 steps. It is a very large...

    A Learning Experience

Thank you for sharing that story Wayne. My story is a little different. When I started this art we all love, my best friend Chris M. was my 'mirror' or 'test audience'. I practiced everything on him and he loved it! He sometimes gave me tips or ideas that I hadn't thought of to improve the...
