    Original color change

i like it! very visual! the only thing i'd be worried about in getting it is the sensitivity of the angles. i absolutely love color changes, but the coolness goes down significantly in my books if it is extremely angle sensitive.

What is your character in magic?

Thank you so very much RealityOne! It's really nice to have a voice of experience to learn from and gather pearls of wisdom. Wow... this is going to give me a LOT to think about these next couple weeks! There was mentioned a book by Derren Brown that spoke of character and stage personalities...

    Coins for general coin magic

ya I actually just watched metal last night to freshen up on coin stuff and I only use the half dollars typically and they work like a charm. But as mentioned above it really depends on your hand size. I have trouble palming certain small coins because of my hand size, thus I typically use half...

What is your character in magic?

but wouldn't as a comedy magician a little twisting the truth about who you are help a little? Use little bits and pieces of the truth and then add onto them to make them better and more accessible in a funny and entertaining way?

What is your character in magic?

Ya I remember a little while back watching a video and I think Lee Asher talked about something to that effect where he was hanging out with a mellow, quiet, personable guy, but as soon as he started performing BAM!! he was a stereotypical loud and exaggerated stage performer and he was taken...

What is your character in magic?

I have been wondering about creating a character for myself, a performing personality as it were, but I was also wondering at the same time if they are necessary? Obviously it has its perks for comedy and stage magicians, but what about more specifically for a close up magician? I perform a lot...

    Random Idea

I actually think the tangling of a slinky and separating it might look kinda cool if done in a magical way. Also maybe like a crazy man's handcuff type trick where the slinky passes through the other and you include a few audience members to help. I haven't heard of any slinky tricks before, but...

    Editing Equipment

what about editing programs that are cheap and really good at the same time for the video creator that's never made movies and is happy with simplicity and nothing crazy?

    Practicing the natural.

I think one of the most helpful things also is like Brad said is to perform for live people and focus on calming your nerve. I've noticed that this helps an incredible amount. During my first theater production at my high school, it was "The Music Man", and I had the very first line of the...

    Practicing the natural.

I think that naturalness is taught best by those who are into coin magic. They really hammer it into you because if your palms or whatever looks arthritic and unnatural your spectators come looking for you fast and it impedes the "magic" of it all and increases the probability of being caught...

    Children show presentation style

I'd definitely have a solid rope and sponge ball routine handy for the gig. Those are very magical, easy, and play well with younger audiences.

    the hole in Whole

No in the Whole Thing he doesn't teach you the original method. He teaches you a new and "more organic" method. I liked the original look even though he said it looked gimmicky. Does he have a website from which you can purchase his book that you mentioned? And thanks! He does say that the holes...

    the hole in Whole

Hey all: recently I purchased The Whole Thing by Chris Mayhew and I was wondering if it was possible to learn the original method for cutting the hole in the cards? It would be cool to do what they did for the Dresscode formal method and post an additional video. Of course nothing too exposing...
