    Thoughts on move monkeys

it is good to learn a lot of moves, as that will get your own creative juices flowing. maybe you will find a small tweak that will make the move your own, and add something to it. Plus, in certain situations, some moves may look much better than others, so having multiple paths to the same end...

    Does flourishing kill card magic?

I guess i'm more of an old school style card guy. to me, the strongest card magic is sticking the card into the middle (for example) and doing NOTHING. no shuffle, no flourish, nothing! but of course, you are already steps ahead of the audience and have controlled the card. Sometimes, I...

    Does flourishing kill card magic?

i agree, morgician nailed it. the real awe of magic and especially sleight of hand magic, is to make the illusions look simple and straight forward. you want people to think that NOTHING has happened when you are already steps ahead. The problem with flourishing during magic is that the...

    Cobra Sharpie 2.0?

if this is the one that is $400 then yes it is worth it if you are a paid performer. it will get you booked. the effect looks great, is straight forward, and the pen is used by the spectator to sign the coin before you do the bend.

    Card steals?

dunno if youre talkin about things like a DPS type move or what, but check out these two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG-fHntf8io http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVWtqrUEm-Y the second can be used as a steal too not just as a replacement

What's your favorite effect that you perform the most?

my new recent fav is loophole by cameron francis. dave forrest's specific handling which has an awesome kicker is a real pleaser. its an acr with a very original and visual climax, and then a 4 of kind kicker. Its a mini routine all in itself and it is GREAT

    Messin With Erdnase

um, im not sure i understand what you are saying... the spec peaks at a card and I square up, turn over the top card and then do the change into their card..... its not an ambitious phase

Digital Dissolve - Problems and Suggestions

dd is a great effect and i use my own personal handling. the only prob i ever have is VERY occasionally if i have to much moisture on my hand, when i place the coin on the back of my hand balanced on the thumb, it can get stuck to my fingers when i let go. that happens 1/100 times and after...

    Mind Reading Trick ... ?

i found a great mental card effect in "Dear Mr. Fantasy" by john bannon that can be repeated over and over for the same people with no give away, and it is very direct. you do a spec peak, close the deck, pressure fan w/ the faces at the spectator, ask them to look at their card, and you can...

    Push-Through Shuffle practice

another tip is to riffle in clumps, not necessarily a perfect interlace. this will reduce the friction as there are less cards sliding past one another.

    Messin With Erdnase

this is my variation of the erdnase change. it is not a strike change http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPz0LyqsxKQ

A routine Im very Proud of.

this routine has a lot of potential. one thing you can do is check out the rubadub deluxe video on vanishingincmagic.com that looks INSANE and doesnt require you to put down the deck or do the cheezy typical rubadub.

    Jerry Andrus "Panoramic Shift"

The title says it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6xhgXsMkMI this specific handling is actually Ken Krenzel's, but the same basic sleight is used. I added my own small tweak to the move that works better for me.
