I hate it when magicians think they are smarter then their audience, when they talk down to them, or are generally condescending.

"I have something else I can do I think you'll like as well." Sometimes they will be more blown away by a new trick than they were with the first. After they see that you are capable of more than just the one trick they will wonder more about what else you can do.

As much as I love magic my family comes first and right now it is best for us that I have most of my evenings open. Magic is a great side job though. I can chose what I want to do with it.

The best tip I could give anyone in magic is to live with a book for a year. This is Jon Racherbaumer's idea but basically it means to take a book and study it all the way through.
