    YouTube Magicians

I meant in the context of a video. Ramsays "educational" videos on a method to a trick is the same as DisturbReality to me. People can argue all they want about who does better crediting, teaches it better whatever, respect for the art...blah blah. The videos are identical to me. If you...

    YouTube Magicians

Exposing the method of a trick is synonymous with teaching it. It's the same thing just with the facade that what you're doing is educational. Perhaps you do have good intentions and want to educate, but whether it's for money/views or teaching those who want to learn, the videos look the same.

Why do some spectators insist on messing with you?

"It doesn't have to be one or the other" -ChristopherT. He is saying leave it up to the spectator to decide what they think it is. Personally I think either way it's fine. If they think it is a trick and they admire your dexterity, dedication to your craft, and you leave them with a puzzle...

    Racism

I am, let me see if I can relate. I'm sorry to hear about this. That's disgusting. I don't blame you for feeling hurt or taking offense to racist remarks, but how you react to racism is what defines your maturity and the man you are or want to become. Langston Hughes has a poem titled, "I...

    Creating the Same Trick

The more I study magic (card and coin specifically) the more I've realized that there are only so many effects, and you probably haven't created a unique one. Vanish, levitate, destroy and restore, transpo, color change, and some other effects. So many tricks are just these effects, but...

What does magic offer that no other art does?

    Nothing. The way it looks.

How to eliminate exposure and why it will never happen

Perhaps. But I think it is more likely that they expose mainstream tricks because it benefits them. Oh 'French Kiss' is becoming an ever popular magic effect, let me expose and teach the method on youtube and rake in hundreds of thousands of views and make some money. That is why the point of...

Blue Memento Mori Playing Cards - Murphy's pushing the limits?

LOL. Okay I didn't know they hired a guy to call Chris a whiny magician. That's hilarious and unprofessional, but he is whiny though. The whole lost millions movie example thing is different than our deck of cards here. It's a recolor. Takes literally seconds to do. Print a small amount of...

Blue Memento Mori Playing Cards - Murphy's pushing the limits?

Chris, I assume, is under contract that anything he produces (in this case the Memento Mori deck) will be for and owned by Murphys Magic. Are they within their legal rights to recolor and sell the deck as long as they don't use Chris' brand? Yes. Are the jokers trademarked by Chris or even his...

    Duo Magic

Don't fret on a late response. There is a community member here, RealityOne, who is a walking library of all things Magic. He possibly will have something for you whenever he gets on or has the time.

Where Are You Now - Magic Performance

I'll try to give advice without changing too much. If you plan to use this on a spectator, master the classic force and have an "out" finale in case you mess up. The overhand shuffle control you use is the least effective one when creating the illusion of losing the card. Top to bottom and...

    Dimitri's Riffle Fan

Asad sometimes doesn't credit the things he teaches in the video and puts the credits in the description box below. Same with Jarek. Dimitri is credited in the description for the riffle fan. Both their channels (52kards/DisturbReality) are no different to me. Does that make it okay to teach his...

    Reading Books

I abuse my books with annotations and highlights. Ebook versions makes this task a lot easier. For textbook styled books I highlight titles of tricks in Blue that I find at the time of reading are usable. Red for anything that is grade A material. Yellow for sleights that are not familiar or for...

    My custom deck design

So I was messing around with your idea and came up with some Ace Designs you could use or use for inspiration maybe. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/17951887_145959969269771_8277598510296118634_n.jpg?oh=c78cd625dec0855845c56724a5e0c8c4&oe=594D2099

    My custom deck design

If it's for the experience, my dude then go for it. I just hate how some youtubers try to use their subscribers to do these "competitions" so that they can get a design made for them for cheap. Same goes for intros, layouts, etc.

Tuck Case: Okay I see where you are going with this. Looks like I made a pact with the devil. Cool idea. Back Design: Is there only suppose to be one heart on the side? So this makes the back design a one way? Not a fan of those personally Joker: Joker is cute. I like it. 7 of Diamonds reveal on...

What are your favorite impromptu, gimmickless card tricks?

If this is your first time learning from books, those are fine options. Don't rush through it! Really absorb and master the fundamentals even if they seem real trivial at first. There are a lot of classic effects in that book: Ambitious Card, Tipsy Trick, Card to Pocket, Cards Across, Conus...
