I've been doing magic on and off for about 3 years and I've never really gotten past card and coin magic. I've dipped my toe into magic books with the classics e.g. royal road but never really expanded. I was thinking of ring and rope magic.

I need some advice on the best magic tricks and books to purchase. I'm looking into FASDIU by Paul Cummins and The Art of Astonishment. Just looking for some advice.

late to the party but...
-impromptu/with very limited set up
-lots of magic story stuff/patter
- audience participation.
-100% examinable.
However this isn't always the case as I often do tricks which use gimmicked cards or duplicates.
