    What Coins Should I Use?

Really anything that will fit comfortably in your hands. I prefer half dollars because they are imo the perfect size. I know a lot of magicians who use quarters because they are more common and a lot of magicians who prefer dollar size coins because they are larger and seem harder to hide...

    Top Ten Close up illusions

Looks great! Hard to see some of it because the camera was looking away sometimes but from what I could see it looks great! I agree that flourishes and cardistry are great "eye candy" so to speak. However, my advice is to try to keep the two as separated as possible when performing "real...

    The greatest trick?

"Hooker Card Rise"...... I remember hearing a lot about it when I first got into magic. http://modernconjurer.blogspot.com/2010/05/hookers-impossible-card-risea-mystery.html

LOL agreed. This is also why it is important to balance your card effects and make them as simple to perform as well. The more difficult it looks, the less "magical" it looks.

    Magic gaff.

For me, the easiest way to add or remove any gaffs is to simply end the effect and leave the deck "dirty for a bit." Begin a new effect, asking the spectator to chose a card, then turn my back as they show it around. simply add or ditch the gaffs into your coat pocket. :)

The $20 a deck only applies to small orers too. I am sue if you order in bulk, the price will go way down.

Where to make your own deck?

The deck my friends had printed were about the same quality as the "Costco" Bicycle decks. Not great, but not bad either.

Where to make your own deck?

Bicycle does custom back designs for like $20 a deck I believe. (I know this because a friend of mine had some cards made up with their wedding photos on them to hand out at their wedding)

    Deck-switch

Yeah inget the motivation behind exciting the switch. The question I have is what is the motivation behind having the box on the table. Because you cannot remove the cards from the case. You have to start off with the cards out of the case. So it makes little sense to me why I would pull the...

    Deck-switch

I have a hard time motivating the cooler. Why is the card case on the table? It makes sense if you take the deck out of he box, but it feels awkward having the cards out then setting it down onto the table only to pick it up and put it in my pocket later... Any advice? Am I missing something maybe?

    Deck-switch

My routine "The Chicago Opener" uses a fun deck switch gimmick that you can create yourself using objects you already have in your home. The routine itself is quite strong as provides some motivation that you can use in your own routines. Check it out here...

I only perform extreme burn tbh. It is an amazing bill change, but just like anything it has it's pros and cons. It all depends on persona style. The think I like about EB is that it is easy to use and doesn't really involve any sleights. Just takes a bit of practice to get used to the gimmick.

    Magic Importance.

Very true! There is a big difference in how difficult a move is vs. how difficult the move appears. I guess you would need to find that balance so that what you are doing appears to be effortless, even if you are actually putting a lot of work into it. However, if an easier alternative is...
