    Book Forward

Agreed with TokyoUW. Sounds too amateurish to be a serious contender for my money. Professional editor would do wonders. I happen to disagree personally with your view on stage magic, and some of your other views on magic seem a bit simplistic - but that might just be me.

    Card Control

There's a book, ironically called Card Control, by Arthur Buckley, which is brilliant. It includes sections on gambling sleights (false deals as well as shuffles and cuts) which are quite comprehensive and a lot of other useful sleights.

Ambitious Card - 'what sleights do you use?'

Haven't posted on here for ages, and I don't plan to, but sorry, that smells of beginner.

    Using full stacked decks

Honestly, stacked decks are extremely practical, and you can do almost anything with them. In essence, at any point in the effect, you know exactly what their card is and where it is in the deck. That's pretty much complete control, limited only by creativity. But, in addition, both Aronson's...

Ungh. Everything I've come to dislike about D&D magic. Nice review though!

    Sure-Fire Mentalism vs. Suggestion Mentalism

Very true - sadly there are simply too many magicians calling themselves mentalists with no real idea about mentalism itself, except Derren Brown's presentations (and chances are he's using something that's buried in The Jinx but seems completely impractical).

    Revealing Magic To Other Magicians

I would support Sinful's answer for your situation. If you'd like a general answer though... It depends on the person and the situation. I have on occasion taught routines and shared ideas with my fellow magicians. On the other hand, there are some effects I do not explain and will not reveal...

    Close-up... and card trouble.

I would suggest... Picking up any good magic book that doesn't focus on cards.

Do You Recognize Any of These Books?

Read between the lines. Alternatively, mail them all to me, and I'll have them.

    Sure-Fire Mentalism vs. Suggestion Mentalism

Not much to add to this, but well said Dee.

    Sure-Fire Mentalism vs. Suggestion Mentalism

Again, I would submit that surely anyone with a modicum of knowledge of mentalism such as yourself would agree that dividing the two is rather simplistic and silly? In any case, as a side note, when I refer to integrating suggestion into mentalism, I mean something different from DLeerium.

    Sure-Fire Mentalism vs. Suggestion Mentalism

Are there two types? As most people would know? I don't think that's true. I'd say that that is a gross simplification, and based on a common beginner's misconception about mentalism, namely, the Derren Brown style mentalist who relies almost completely on NLP and suggestion. That said, I will...

I just started learning card magic.

Are there any magic shops in Malaysia that you could order from? I know there are several in nearby countries. Alternatively, many online magic shops stock RRTCM. As a side note, downloading magic is considered highly unethical for many reasons, so you won't find any help on anything like that...

    Should I get Mystique, too?

Well, d+M stuff is certainly preferable over D&D for me because it does have a fair bit more audience interaction and does require audience management. As far as routining goes, it shouldn't be too difficult, but that would simply depend on your presentation. Mystique has some good effects...

    Best Card Effect

Dee does indeed have a method called ANATE. But there are other methods, and I would venture the possibility that Ineski, along with others including myself, use different ones.
