    Official Business Card Thread

Ok...I've bit my tongue long enough. Personally, I think that the ambigrams look terrible on a business card. In order to even be legible, they have to be kinda large. NOT POSSIBLE on the 3x2in business card. Something simple and easy on the eyes, and those are most certainly not...

    Old Timer Magicians

Just wanted to point out, that I feel everything Brad Henderson said was well within reason, and quite appropriate. Not to make him seem like the bad guy, but he said what needed to be said. Best. Steve

    There's no business like. . .

Wow...for once, that made me think about some stuff. Very enlightening, and easy to see how it relates to what we do. Obviously, if people are sticking around to watch your show on a 90 degree day in the sun, they like what they're seeing. And if they like what they're seeing, well then keep on...

    Old Timer Magicians

That could also be turned around to mean the exact same thing. If the kids don't respect the elders, why should the elders respect the kids? Of course, the "old timers" have already paid their dues, thus they should be given a certain level of respect regardless. The same goes to teachers...

    Old Timer Magicians

See...this is the sort of crap that pisses me off. Corey, you need to apologize for your post. Step up and handle this like a man. It was out of line and not needed. That's non-negotiable IMO. Secondly, yes, we do need to respect those that have paved the road. Guys such as Dai Vernon, Harry...

    Are magicians geeks?

It took you that long?? :p (Blink...I love you bro, in a totally heterosexual way though lol) Yea, my grades could have been better. I got caught up in all the partyin' stuff, drinkin, and just plain "don't give a damn" syndrome. I barely get by, every year. And while I do magic, which is a...

    Schwing by Chris Kenner

Drew, I think it's already been said, but your charisma and natural charm just seem to make you a likeable person. And I've said this time and again, that if they like you, they'll like WHAT you do. That said, I thought it was pretty entertaining for the most part. Too bad it wasn't in...

A magician at my sister's wedding

I'm glad to hear it all turned out well.... :) I'm also glad you got to see that a professional magician is more than just a few tricks and a business card. This guy sounds like the definition of a pro, in all aspects of the word (from your description). Anyways, good of you for not trying to...

Anyone here actually met a professional magician?

Yes. Myself, I'm a semi-pro, but have about a dozen numbers of other pros (friends) on my cell phone that I can call at the drop of a hat. It's nothing special really... I've met Justin Miller, and we've spoken on the phone. I've met Eric Jones before, and he too is awesome! I've met Kozmo, and...

    The Destiny Effect

I found it kinda pointless, threads like these in general. I, as in myself, think it would only make sense to post a video of the effect from the jump. That would shut most people up, then you'd only have to deal with the rest of the *******s. Anyways, unless I see a video, I don't think it's...

    Flashy reveal of top card?

Hmmm...I playing with the idea of having the spectator select the card via a classic force. Then instead of looking at the face, put it on top of the deck and go from there....that might be my best bet as of right now. Thanks again guys, and keep those ideas coming! :) -Steve

    Flashy reveal of top card?

I'm talking about producing the top card in some way, then I need to go into a triple lift. Something flashy looking, and somewhat magical. :)

    Flashy reveal of top card?

Hey guys... I'm sure one of y'all could help me out. I need a flashy way of producing the top card of the deck, without showing the face. I've messed around with the hot shot cut, but won't have enough time to get it down good. No exposure, just a name or something. :) Thanks! Steve

Well, first things first. Magi Whirl 2008: Complete success. All the lectures ROCKED! From Ice McDonald lecturing on the business and ethics to showmanship and "show no-no's", we actually ran over our time! Then Aldo Colombini and Rachael were just sooooo funny....Aldo had to the funniest...
