Go with the swami gimmick. always gets great reactions. i would also recomend getting 13 steps to mentalism by corinda it has some great stuff in there. but if youre just starting mentalsim go with a simple invisible deck.
actually on his book identity it teaches a (gimmicked) version of breach that can be done with a signed card. i actually think it is easier to do and more effective because it is signed.
