To be honest, you don't really need jokes with those. People make their own jokes and your reaction can be the funniest part. People love to think they are the wittiest person in the room, so let them crack the jokes. You won't offend people, and they will be entertained.

Well said. As for ditching, I learned Greg Wilson's pitch and ditch earlier on, and it's my favorite method. Worth looking into for sure.

You can submit the effect and explanation for verification. Otherwise you will need to get some feedback from other magicians. One possibility is to make a video of the effect and post it here. Many will be able to tell you about originality just by seeing the effect.

My goal for this month is to make progress on my confabulation routine. I've received Cody Fisher's routine, and it may help a lot with what I want to do. I'm also working on Bullet flourish and Dreem cut (wire).

Welcome back! I always find inspiration just from buying a new trick and playing with it. Also I love reading through forums. It can be very inspiring and motivating.

Try the dribble force, it's quite nice when done well and can meet your conditions.

I would recommend picking up Royal Road to Card Magic. It explains through example how to build a show and some elements to look at when putting things together. On top of that you will learn some fantastic tricks. Read and work through the entire thing as a starting point.
