    Derren Brown: The Events

I'm at the edge of my friggin' seat and I feel like a kid at Christmas! :D

I am in a bit of trouble here

Hell yeah, very practical gifts. Are you familiar with an effect called Snowstorm in China. That would be a great use of your fan, even in a close-up setting.

    Most Memorable Performances

I remember years ago I was with my close friends at Applebee's. I was very good friends with one of the waitresses and every time i'd go to Applebee's she would always want to see a quick trick before she took my order. So this particular day they were the busiest that I have ever seen it, so...

I am in a bit of trouble here

That kicks butt man, congrats. I so do envy you, but i'm glad that it worked out for you and it sounds like it paid off big time. Good move on the paper roses also, classic! Any time you can experience a different culture is always a good time and with magic as the communication tool...Man I...

    Practicing Habits.

It depends, if it's a move or sleight that i'm practicing then it's all mirror practice until I feel comfortable with it. If it's a trick then I spend some time getting comfortable with the mechanics of the effect. I then usually set a camcorder up on a tripod or have someone film me doing it...

    Are you a good magician?

Well, I will say that I have a long way to go to meet my own standards of what I would consider being good. I've been doing magic for a little over four years now, I have very good skill on a technical level but am by no means at all a "technician". I desperately need to work on interacting...

In my many years of magic (6) haha

Ok, I just answered my own question, sorry guys. I have used the Cut-Deeper Force for years. It never fails and it meets your criteria.

What Would Others Say About You?

Even though I don't know Flyinggazelle personally, from reading his various posts I can honestly say that Flying is very opinionated but also (thankfully) not one-sided. Flying could see the big picture and it is refreshing to see a magi like Flying on these fourms.

In my many years of magic (6) haha

A stupid question but would it be illegal on the forums or "exposure" if I just said the title of a force that I use all the time. It meets his criteria, no breaks and no misdirection.

    Non-card trick

I can honestly say that I was in the same boat a few years ago. The DVD that got me started on non-card stuff was Jay Sankey's Anytime Anywhere, it's about 25 bucks but you get, I believe 33 routines all of which are more or less impromptu with minimal props. www.sankeymagic.com...

    Pick-up Lines for girl magicians

I'd play it all sleek and cool, like Marlo; and then execute a "rear-palm"...Ha Ha Ha...and then you'd slap me and get a restraining order out against me. I'd strip naked and burn all my clothes in the bathtub while quietly humming Come On Baby Light My Fire by the Doors. Tomorrow will be a...

    Roadrunner Cull DVD question?

I completely agree with this statement. I've been doing the cull for a few years now, but i'm still really eager to get my grubby hands on this little diddie. Koysta has the ability to cull mulitiple cards in less than a minutes. Say if you have a trick that requries a set-up of about ten...

The Disappointment of Being A Magician...

Dylan P., this was about the most heart-felt post i've read all week on these forums. All I can say is you're obviously very passionate about magic, so do me a favor; just strive to be the best magi as you can possibly be. Continue to bring joy to the vast majority and please don't harbor to...

    Hmmm... I've always wondered.

I'll put in my two cents to this topic, I personally think that XCM and straight magic are two completely different arts. I believe that we should respect those two arts equally. I believe it's possible to combine those two arts to create some really kick ass magic. I believe Daniel Madison's...

    Mind Mysteries

The 13 Steps to Mentalism is not only very inexpensive, but it is hailed by many professional mentalists as the "mentalist's bible". In my humble opinion you should definitely get it. Also, check out Theo Anemman's Practical Mental Effects, it's no more than 15 dollars and it's overflowing...

August 2009 :: Where Are We Going?

I do agree with the fact that their needs to be an encouragement to study the older magi. If it was not for these masters contributions to our art. There would probably be fewer if not any of our generation of magi. I have an immense respect for Lee Asher for putting up videos of the old...
