    Caught performing a sleight...

Even when you've practiced a move and got it almost perfect sometimes you mess up when performing for a live audience, you flash something, don't get the angles quite right etc and a spectator sees something they shouldn't. What do you do when your caught performing a sleight?

    D+M Aces - Mystique

You must be especially careful about this with this particular effect. The spectators don't actually see the Aces in the deck before you produce them. You can get away with 1 card to pocket (or other location) but if there's 2 then the spectators will probably realise the aces were never in the...

Did Anyone Notice This About Smoke And Mirrors Design?

On a forum caps = shouting, everybody knows that. I wasn't making it personal, I was simply stating that when you appear to be shouting it makes a discussion with you impossible. If you laid out your arguments in an easily readable and coherrent way then you would get a better response...

    Best T11 Produced Product?

The best for me has been Dangerous. I think it's the best value for money by far, it has lots of effects instead of just one and all of it can be done with a regular deck.

    Other Sites

How are we supposed to suggest anything when we don't know anything about you? What do you already have?, What's your skill level etc?

Did Anyone Notice This About Smoke And Mirrors Design?

You seriously need to calm down. You look stupid shouting about some letters on a deck of cards.

    Sleeping Queens

It doesn't make much difference to me how it's achieved, the effect (or something so close to it spectators wouldn't notice the difference) could be done with a colour change and a gaff. The effect is more important than the method and the effect doesn't really do anything for me. I'm...

A New 1-on-1: Aaron Fisher's Gravity Half Pass?

I would like to see more 1 on 1's from Aaron Fisher but I think the GHP should stay in a book. I would like to see the One handed Popover move taught on video. It would also be good to see Aaron teach some other passes (perhaps his handling of the classic pass).

Did Anyone Notice This About Smoke And Mirrors Design?

Do you have anything to back this up? The D's are the same as in the Dan and Dave logo. This strongly suggests that they are in fact letters as why would they make themselves a logo that doesn't have their names in it? (or at least their initials). It's possible that they decided to make...

    Vent on International Shipping Prices?

I'm starting to think I should have bought the S&M from Dan and Dave instead. Although, I've heard a few bad things about D&D shipping, like things being missed out on orders, sending the wrong amount of decks etc.

    Vent on International Shipping Prices?

Yea, that's really annoying. Often, when there's an important issue being discussed and people aren't happy about it we just get some over the top BS that sounds like it's been copy and pasted like 'Hey we love you guys, we do everything we can to take magic your magic to the next level etc...

    Vent on International Shipping Prices?

I was going to buy Panic and some Split Spades from T11 recently but when I saw the shipping prices I decided not to. I was also planning to buy a brick of smoke and mirrors but decided to only get 6 because of the obscene shipping. It's absolute BS, nearly all other magic sites are A LOT cheaper.

    Sleeping Queens

It seems like Ellusionist are running out of good effects to sell. There's no way this should be sold by itself. I don't know how they can get so much hype out of a gaff and a colour change. This isn't worth more than $5, maybe $10 with the bonus tricks.

Smoke & Mirrors - The Review

Whenever a new deck of cards is released it's always the best deck ever and looks and feels ten times better than anything else. I've yet to see a deck that looks better in person than on video, in the trailers the lighting is always set up to make them look way better. Everyone will...

    What makes a magic trick?

I believe you are correct when you say the most important thing is the connection between the performer and spectator. David Blaine uses very little patter yet still connects with his spectators, this is why he gets insane reactions from relatively simple effects. Wayne Houchin also talks...

    How to deal with Hecklers?

Getting angry about this isn't going to help at all, so I suggest you calm down and don't let it get to you. Saying stuff like 'OK, you do a trick then' comes across as incredibly childish and immature and won't help your performance in any way. It's possible that there's a problem in your...

    Stopping Exposure on YouTube

You really need to calm down and get over it. Any serious magician will buy the DVD and learn the effects properly. Any audiences over the age of 12 have better things to do than look up magic tricks on Youtube, not a single person I know would waste their time doing this. Maybe a few kids...

    D+M Aces - Mystique

I haven't got round to performing this trick but I have learnt it and I agree that the last production isn't particularly good. Even in the performance the spectators hardly seem to realise another ace has appeared. An idea i've been playing round with is producing the third ace, doing some...

    Can Card Magic be More?

I think explaining why somethng is happening is usually far more important than explaining how something is happening. A lot of old school magicians use insulting patter to try and explain why something is happening, I find it painful to watch. I have a great deal of respect to magicians...

    I'm 15. Can I use a credit card?

When I was 15 I had a Debit Card which worked on practically every site and in most stores as well. You just open a bank account and they give you the card. It's going to be different depending on where you live, I live in the UK. Although, wherever you live, I think it's very likely you'll...
