    'in air' tabled faro?

It helps a lot. Thanks for the response! BTW I have several decks of Turner Golden Standards as well as Bees and also the first edition of the Tahoe reprints that were issued some years back, (2013?), and those seem to be traditionally cut as well.

    'in air' tabled faro?

OK, thanks! FYI: in the hours since I first posted this I've been trying to feel out the move and I think I've got it. I just have to refine it. Thanks again for taking the time to look!

    'in air' tabled faro?

Hey fellow magi! Just recently getting back into magic. I posted here years ago but that was. . .well years ago! I've recently seen a version of faro that I've come across in the past but had no interest in learning. I saw it on Daniel Madison's YT channel for 'The Broken Bridge False Shuffle...

You know you're a card artist when...

When the deck is really skunked and you have to throw them away you SPRING them into the garbage. Your girlfriend's father has such an old, warped, crappy deck at his house you think, "what kind of man ARE you?" You have a deck in the bathroom so you can be culling and going at the same time.

Need help with the Classic Pass

Hey Junster, Jonas makes several good points also. While the mirror can be a good tool, try to have a magic buddy watch you and give you feedback if you're feeling shaky about flashing. OR a video camera if you have one. I have my flip video and a tripod and use it a lot for this very thing...

Need help with the Classic Pass

I've gotten mine to where I can't see it when I'm practicing in the mirror. And as this IS the classic pass I'll say that I do need A LOT more practice! But what I'm doing is the technique for the invisible pass which means you're rocking the deck up slightly, (sleightly?), in line with the...

    Moisturize Your Hands

My hands are so powdery dry that I find it hard to manipulate cards without some assistance. What works for me is Ulatra Mide 25. It's billed as Intensive Moisturizing Lotion for Extra Dry, Cracked or Calloused Skin. I wash my hands and pat them so that they're nearly dry. Then I apply just a...

How much will you be selling your Smoke and Mirrors?

There's an auction on eBay right now of the v1s: http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-SMOKE-Playing-Cards-1st-Edition-Magic-Dan-and-Dave_W0QQitemZ380297726581QQcategoryZ1438QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5623400753544026726 As of...

What is your favorite on - handed cut?

I also use the Revolution Cut a fair bit. Lately I've been working on D&Ds Cards Across where Dan, (or is it Dave?), cuts the top card into the deck with a Revolution Cut. I'm nailing it a fair bit but I still have some problems keeping the packets aligned during the spin when I'm trying to...

    Good Card Trick DVD's

If you're just starting out you could do a lot worse than The Royal Road to Card Magic DVDs with R. Paul Wilson. Teaches solid technique along with some good tricks. He encourages the viewer to read the book in conjunction with the DVDs. Excellent resource. Intermediate to advanced: there are...

Rizer by Eric Ross and B Smith

This is the current buzz about it right now on the Magic Cafe: http://themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=389881&forum=218&16&start=0#15 And I have to say, damn that looks awesome! If it really plays like that live what an amazing illusion.

    Anti-Faro and practical magic

Yes, I'm referring to the move but no, not the book. A number of Youtube videos have been put up. IMO this is one of the best. It's perfect after adjusting one card! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRED7bz6ylg I know most videos of this type are just for demo purposes but I find it funny...

    Pinky power!

Hey shindrichs, thanks for replying. Those are good ideas but I think I may have been a bit unclear in my description. And if this is too much exposure let me know and I'll remove it but there's no way to be clear on this without describing the move. You hold the pack in mechanics grip, (I'm...

    Pinky power!

Yeah, the pull down. I termed it pullout because the object, (like in DVR and Raise Rise), is to pull the card out. And you know what they say. If you think it's dirty then you're doing it right!:D

    Pinky power!

Does anyone know a good source for learning the pinky pullout in detail? It's something that I find difficult to do and I'm trying to find a good resource for it. Thanks. Difficulties are: Getting the right leverage if your fingers aren't too long Keeping the upper packet stable during...
