    Looking for a Specific Control

no, no cutting involved in Veeser's bluff shift. Super convincing, too.

    Looking for a Specific Control

Do NOT use vernon's mutiple shift, you are cutting the cards, and to be honest, it completely obvious subconsciously. Try Robert Veeser's bluff shift found in by forces unseen and Rev. Card Technique.

    The Graduate by Aaron Fisher

If fugatawa's is performed correctly, it is virtally angleproof, and, imo, the most visual. The graduate seems like "the magician fooler" of the elevator plot. While the method is clever and well taught, i just don't get the visual aspect of astonichment that I get with fugatawa's. I thikn more...

    Sleight of Hand/Impromptu > Gimmicks?

Do not compare the two. Its what brings about the best effect. Concerning your self with which is better is the wrong way to look at things. The spectator sees neither the gaff or the slieght. They see the magic. Concern yourself with that.

    Trick idea...

    Liberation of the Fingers

Well, its funny how these people are following the latest trend of dissing visual, move monkey material, simply because you think its "right". Soon you will all go right back to the phase of buying the latest "visual" magic, and then half assing the performance. Oh well, i quite liked the dvd...

This makes me want to quit.

You could say the same with any art form. Magic, whether you want to or not, is trying to innovate, be it visual or presentational. The old stuff is great, but you forget how many new things are just as wonderful. It is up to you, as the "magician", to make what you learn magic.
