    Hypnosis

+1 Milton Ericson. I imagine when you are paralyzed and can do nothing but watch ... you learn the intricacies of the language of the body, and how to feed that back. He really was quite something ... who else would attempt hypnosis for blocking the pain of having a tooth pulled? I've trained...

    Confidence

I agree. If you repeat something enough, confidence is a side effect. Lack of confidence can be deep rooted, and something learned through environment and social reinforcement. This is a tangled web, and not something that will unravel by 'something you say'. It will take time and practice doing...

    Pretentious

Pretentious know it all? I don't know you very well ... but you speak your mind, and tell it how it is (or how you think it is). What the hell are you apologizing for? Sometimes we rub people the wrong way for no apparent reason. If these people feel the need to contact you and belittle you...

Has this ever happened to you?

Me: hey remember me...... Girl: no not really......why? Me: (pulls out cards) I don't think BlueSpade1000 is bummed out at all, i think this is the reaction he/she is after. When the girl replies negatively ... BlueSpade1000 pulls out a deck. What other reaction could you wish for? To answer...

    best card thru window?

I loved that video on page one of the English guy putting the cards through the car window. Priceless. Anyway, the best one is definitely, without a doubt, the one that works for you in your setup under your conditions and amazes the pants off your audience ... even if it includes Mr Stones effect.

Coins across on top of Berlin

Nice video and some beautiful moves, but i concur with the above. The overall effect of coins across should leave the viewer thinking ... wow ... his/her hands had distance between them. After all, you could have done something tricky when your hands came together one of those times. ;)

    There Isn't THE BEST....

That's the BEST advice i have seen here. So for those that are reading this and are about to make a post with the word 'best' in it. Replace it with 'favourite'.

    Ziplock change

The effect is nice, although a little transparent (maybe that's just me). I might suggest forcing the chosen card and using some DST to make sure if someone wants to see the deck, they are going to find your original force ... or the other thing.

Do you have any other examples?

    Any Volunteers?

Do you mean a personal website for yourself or more of a community type thing? I am a designer and can probably knock something up for you ... provided you can supply me with information and media. www.kungfu.net.au www.porteus.org (the linux distro i maintain) PM me if you like.

Card back design - opinions please

I don't like the back design although it lends itself to card marking very nicely. It also would be effective for some of those effects where you fold a card in quarters. Ug i feel old now. The tardis for me ... was in black and white and the darleks had troubles with stairs and uneven surfaces.

    Best cap in bottle trick

I quite often perform an impromptu cap in bottle at BBQ's (we love our BBQ's). Have done for years and i am sure this method has been published before. It is done with a beer bottle/cap and a mysterious force. I think that should be enough for you to work it out. You can literally pick up any...

Michael Jackson pumped to put illusion in show

This quick change somewhat exposes the method. She preempts alot. Nice to watch in any case. I liked the Steve Martin Flydini act on the Carson show. I think that could fall into the non magic category. Find Flydini here

    The magician shopping

Ok admit it. When you're out buying social clothes you have a certain set of prerequisites that your potential purchase has to adhere to don't you? Suitable sleeves, perhaps a breast pocket, a dark colour interior. Please tell me you do ... or am i just a little obsessed? Hell, sometimes i don't...

I'm going to learn that on youtube

Hey Randy ... lighten up. Why are you assuming so much about this person, and drilling them over your assumptions?

    Inspirations

One of the best ROV i have seen on camera. Very smooth. I am certainly inspired and will certainly be stealing some of your moves ... if that's ok with you. :)

    Trick for The Wire :)

I think it sounds greeat. Would love to see this one.

    Therm-o-chromic by Radek Makar

Nice job and i enjoyed the patter. The camera cut before coin through pocket would be a little sus to laymen ... but going by the first comment on your youtube page about the 'vanish' at 0:17 that was actually a muscle pass ... i don't think you will have any problems. Some really slick changes...

What do you look for in a new trick?

I try to imagine i am a layman, and if the effect looks incredible then i like it. If my magician eyes are also fooled, then even better. I also think that instant (or discrete) reset are important but not essential if the effect is a killer. Trailers and video cut to shreads are very popular...

    Shell question

Be careful with the shell when practicing and try to practice over a soft floor covering if possible. Dropping a shell on it's edge can result in a slightly deformed coin almost invisible to the eye (the dent, not the coin) which results in a jam. I have also had shells (badly) made that do not...
