Foundations is a great reccomendation, but, honestly, if you aren't willing to put in the time to practice, there's really nothing that will suit you.

I do that too and I find people are more interested in a dribble than what I have to say (it's like talking to a girl with big boobs)... I'm trying not to do it as much... However, I think when people see a dribble, they don't think anything funny is going on and maybe even think the cards...

If you flourish at all, usually you can tell who is interested or not. A few fancy fans and cuts often catches peoples eyes. From there, some times people just ask if I do magic, but most of them, when I see someone is interested, I just ask if they want to see a trick. I've never really run...

Wow... that's interesting. I'm sure you could still perform without speaking, but that makes it a hell of a lot harder to be honest. I think you can make a living at it, but I think you'd have to be more an assistant / creator of effects for other artists... just my thought.

When you get your new cards try to keep your hands as clean as possible. It keeps them from getting chunky... at least, it will take longer.

Sounds like a really awesome trick... I've heard of similar plots, but nothing quite the same.

What I do when anyone tells me how they think a trick is done is I just agree sarcastically. Even if they're completely wrong. I think it's a bit harder with geek magic because most people want to believe it's real and gross.

I personally don't like performing for Magicians unless I have a new effect I'd like to run through someone I trust for suggestions.
