The method was not surprising, although it did contain some unique systems such as the one for the Split Spades deck. Although, coming up with your own system isn't very hard, depending on what deck you use. The materials are easy to find and work well, very simple, you probably have them already. It's too bad it was released before the Guardians, though... the back design for that one doesn't leave a ton of options. 
If you have no idea how to mark a deck, then get it, it's worth the money. But if you already know some systems, then meh...

The different ideas and methods are very nice. The split spades idea is pretty sick.
If you have a marked deck already, you might not need this, but I haven't regretted picking it up.
