Brown, Cinnamon, or Violet Wynn's

I have been looking around on Ebay for all three colors of the Wynn's Deck and information on the decks series and I rediscovered a seller whom I have bought rare decks from before. He's selling tons of the Red (Cinnamon) and Blue (Violet) Wynn decks and on the page he say's:

"Just a word about the controversial jumbo index tech art Brown Wynn Deck that is touted so highly?

We had the opportunity to test a brown Wynn deck against the red (cinnamon) and blue (violet) decks. The brown is different in that it feels and handles more like a Bicycle 808 than a standard Bee Casino Deck. It is more flexible and softer than a Bee. It is also a jumbo index tech art deck that is not known to be very popular among magicians. In our opinion (for what it’s worth) the red and blue decks would appeal more to magicians. They feel a bit more substantial and are printed in a more consistent color. They also have the ability to be broken in to an individual’s own preference. Also the standard index is a more accepted staple in the magic world. We think the red and blue are a closer mirror to Jerry’s because of the same color schemes and the “Bee” feel. Either way any of these decks will become collectable."

What do you guys think?

It is more flexible and softer than a Bee.

I hate how flexible and soft Bees are. If my Wynns are more flexible and softer than a Bee, I will cry. I want stiff, substantial cards. I miss my Guardians. Now that I've worn out my Guardians, I feel every bit as bad as if I'd been dumped by a really hot chick. I despair of ever having any other deck as good as my Guardians. I pine for them. But I have to give the Wynns a fair shot, and my wife will kill me if I don't use up my Tigers and Tallys first.

But right now, I have no real interest in anything that isn't a deck of Guardians. I'm just marking time until I can get back to them.

Are they cherry?

Off topic, but cherry cough syrup is the worst kind.

On topic, why does it matter? Let's just say red. It sums it all up. R-E-D. But I think it's all BS. These people say they tested all the decks, blah blah blah. Seriously doubt that.

I can't say they aren't right, as I've never tried red or blue (cinnamon and violet;)).

People are sensitive when it comes to the color of their cards. ;)

I know a few people that have tried all 3 colors. (I have never seen a Wynn deck in my life so I can't say much.) Apparently red and blue are similar, one is slightly better for flourishing while the other is slightly better for tricks. Brown is all around slightly better for tricks and flourishes than red and blue. However, they are both very similar. Personally, I think red and blue look awesome, however I wouldn't mind getting myself a few brown. However, there are other things that I want to save up for right now and brown Wynns are not at the top of the list. However, soon I think I'll pick myself up some red/blue Wynns.

Hope that helped. =P Also, it's not clear to me why they don't handle the same. It's pieces of paper with a finish on them... why colors matter is beyond me...

I've tried all three. They feel pretty much the same...but you will really want the Standard Index. The Jumbo Tech Art is just so irritating when fanning or even when performing/practicing for magic. It just looks so weird...

So, I would recommend the Blue/Red ones for magic. Can't say which ones I recommend for flourishing, though. I don't really have any experience with that.

Hello Everyone!

I'm not sure how you could think that the brown's are the worst of the three. To each his own, but there's no way someone that handles them regularly and judges based on durability and fanning could arrive at that conclusion.

I happen to have a red deck and a brown deck within arms reach, both happen to be a few days old and well worn in.

Let's see what happen when I do a simple fan... The red and/or blues (they are the same stock and finish) did not fan AT ALL after 48 hours of regular use-- that's why theory11 does not carry them.

Theory11 was the first to have the full scoop and access to the red and blues before anyone but explicitly decided not to sell them because we knew many of you guys-- particularly the magicians who need a deck that fans like butter--- would not be pleased with the smoothness and durability.

The red and blues are a bit crisper, however, so for flourishing and cuts and stuff, they are great. I'll freely admit that I'm not the world's foremost expert on card fanning (I'm a girl), but these results are not just by me... I was in the room when the theory11 crew was testing each and unless you received a deck touched by an angel, every single brown deck tested showed exponentially better fanning and durability.

That is not to say that the red and blue decks aren't awesome... they're great for flourishes and cuts... but theory11 has a ton of magician members, so fanning ability has to maintain a strong criteria.

Stay awesome.

Katie Egleston.

I have to agree with what Katie said, I've had all three colors for over a month now and the brown wynns fans/feels noticeable better than the red/blue wynns.

I somewhat disagree with the last few posts here – for me the violet Wynn's have fanned far better than any of the other colours in question. Granted, the posts were referring mainly to how the cinnamon decks fan much worse than the brown ones, but over-all I feel the violet decks come out trumps. For general magic use and a couple of flourishes, the violet decks are definitely the ones for me. As for mainly flourish-based decks, the cinnamon Wynn’s are probably what you're looking for. For decks to simply use-up, trash and throw away, I feel the brown ones do it justice. :)

Quick List/Summary

Brown - Magic
Red - Flourishes
Blue - Everything

Blues are like the borderline shade of blue and purple. People will say there blue/purple depending what lighting your in. They fan Great better than bikes.

Reds are mainly good for flourishing one of the most heavy duty decks I know of.
Their color is a slightly dark red. not cinnamon because cinnamon is brownish red.... FABULOUS =p

Brown I do not own but from what I herd THERE ACTUALLY BROWN!
It wouldn't be smart of me to judge them since I don't have them so I would go with Jordan Lapping because hes pretty knowledgeable of cards... to say the least, and he also has a video performance with them.
