Do you guys think it is possible to own too much magic material like DVD's, books. etc..? I am at the point where I want to start creating my own stuff, but do you think that purchasing to much DVD's will hinder your creativity? I dont even perform 80% of the stuff that I own but I am still buying new stuff, do you think that is wise? I am thinking of just purchasing the Paul Harris True Astonishments and then calling it quits on card magic and buying new magic for a few years.. do you think that is wise?

I totally agree with this. I feel that I tend to be a very big impulse buyer and now have so many things and can't seem to be "happy" with a lot of them. By no means am I a beginner. I've been in magic 9 years now but when you mix the fact that I am a magician and an extremely bad impulsive buyer....oh boy...does that hurt the wallet. It is an on going cycle. I go do my paid gigs and then the money just gets spent within a week on the new latest and greatest. Some items arrive and I love them and know that I will use them...others...just sit on my dresser as my wife yells and says, "yeah...you just had to have that one didn't you?" Ha Ha. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this ongoing cycle. Maybe I will grow out of the phase but I don't think so...it is like and addiction.

Ha. Your right, your not he only one by any means. Ive heard the same thing, more than once.

I'll give my wife props though, she does support my magic endeavors. I like to bring up how cheap magic is compaired to some other hobbies I would be willing to start getting into. It doesnt always work though.
