Hi,

I Was practising with an old deck and was wondering:

What kind of finshes are there ( included the one that are not more in use)
Wich one is the best for what purpose (flourishing or card magic)
And why, in gods name why is a deck fanning well after it's exposed to low temperatures?

Please help me out,

Thnx

In the not to distant future
plastic coated, air flow finish, linoid finish - that's tally-ho, there are a lot of finishes, these are the more common. Personal opinion for the flourishing magic question. i find that the linoid finish feels the best and lasts the longest. the cards are more crisp and therefore do not stick together. hope thats everything answered. if there's anything else feel free to add.

You little stalker!
To answer your second question, different decks are good for different things. Here is my opinion of the best deck for each of the following purposes:

Cuts: Jerrys and Wynns. They clump together more so packets dont fall apart.

Fanning: Tally-Ho's, S&M, E Decks. Nice finish, good fans

Magic: Bikes. Other decks will arouse suspicion and that's one thing you need to avoid with magic. Use bikes cuz many people are familiar with them. For example if you did a trick with bikes they might think "That's impossible, those are just ordinary cards! WHAT THE ****!!!" As opposed to if you used a black tiger deck, they might think "Hmm.... those cards look really weird, i've never seen them before. They're probably trick cards."

I disagree entirely with your reasoning for using Bikes.

There aren't "familiar" cards in Australia, so by your reasoning my spectators should think that I'm using trick decks all the time. But they never do.

It's all in how you handle them.
