I can do it but it doesn't work out as fluid as I'd like it to.
A lot of folks can do this they just wouldn't usually put it on camera.
Damn i thought the mayor could do it.
but yer it would be pretty hard to get on camera you would stuff a fair few times. or not be as fluid as said above as you would want to be
I have a video of Marlo performing 8 perfect tabled faros. I sometimes stick it on when i want my confidence lowered.
First, the guy in the video has a little too much hand movement. The re-adjustments aren't necessary, and his rubbing action to start the weave on a few, is a bit amateur. However, it's a start...but if that is a finished product, meh.
As for it being exposure - I am not sure...I can see how you could think that, and have a strong argument for it - but the shuffle has been around for a long time.
If I am not mistaken...the shuffle came from a game in the 1800's, called Faro.
Anyhow, if you think that is exposure - you will NOT be happy with Wikapedia.

In all honesty though - even if it is exposure - WHY would someone want to learn to do it, that was not a magician? Please - I know a dozen effects with faro's...and only one or two that I would consider performing. Even if you knew about a faro - that video does not explain the principles behind it...to them, it appears like magic. As, performing an effect, like UNSHUFFLED, then by definition would be "exposure".
Even the wikapedia site doesn't say HOW to do it, just that it can be done. My ruling - thud thud (of wooden gavel) NOT EXPOSURE!

I don't see why this is considered a challenge, many of practice Faros and use their effects can do this ...
Check out the Legend DVD, Marlo does it tabled.

I understand the usefulness of a Faro, I wasn't downplaying it - I was just saying, "how many effects do you use with it" and "even if you do 100, I don't find the knowledge of THIS particular move exposure".
There are other ways to retain a full deck, outside of a faro, that is all.

Guys, you ARE under estimating it. All you need to do is what's called a reverse faro and then in performance show the cards mixed up and then after only ONE FARO be back to a full deck stack. If that's not amazingly helpful, nothing is

A few things - first, you can do the "prework" as in unshuffled, to only have to do a few shuffles in performance.
Second, doing a reverse faro - or an antifaro is not that easy. Jupiter, are you saying you can spring the cards so they reverse faro...or are you manually jogging back and forth.

Manual jogging. If it's pre-work it doesn't really matter. In Alex Elmsleys books, which is pretty much my magic bible, he uses ALOT of Faros and actually suggests this himself several times, henceforth I use it alot. I do use ALOT of Faro tricks, probably more than most people so I know how valuable being able to keep a stack with a Faro shuffle is.
