I was thinking about the Peaky Blinders Deck and I see what T11 was going for, but I honestly feel the style was a little too been there done that. The quality was fine, but I think the entire approach could have been done differently and it would have been an instant classic. Of course that could be just me, so I am making this poll. I see this deck could have been made two ways:
1. Just like it was. Styling from the TV show with characters as the royalty suite.
2. Make the deck look like a real deck came out of the Peaky Blinders Universe. So, things like the existing card back is perfect, the aged and used nature are awesome, the blood spatter are fine too, but make the royalty suite look like an old fashioned suite. Maybe name the deck after a hotel, resturant, or other location that might have a card deck. So, a subtle nod to Peaky Blinders with a ton of easter eggs, but on its own a cool deck that could be used by anybody for anything. I dont think this would work for everthing, like a Hulk deck should be all about the Hulk. But, a Harry Potter deck could be setup like a magical world deck, with historical characters, with mysticism, maybe a magic gimick, etc.
Background: I am asking this because it reminds me of Omega's 007 Watches. The older ones, were very overt with 007 plastered on the dial in a repeating patter,, or the gun barrel on the dial, or a 007with the gun on the Clasp, "Quantum of Solace" etched on the crystal, etc. BUT in more recent iterations, it is super subtle. Like the 007 branding is on the back of the watch, but the dial, clasp, etc. have hidden elements like the a white ball on the end of the second hand that looks like a ball going around a roulette wheel for Casion Royale, or 7 screws holding the case back on, or the dial pattern and color matching the first Bond Omega watch from Pierce Bronsen, or the bracelet matching the NTTD watch, or the 12:00 Bezel Pip being replaced with a 60 for 60 years of cinematic Bond, but also being usable for a 60 minute timer. Basically, a super cool watch, but if you know, you know. Most people have found these more subtle nods to be far preferable than screaming, "I have a James Bond watch"
