D+M "Burn" cards

Hey guys, I need a little help.
I hope someone have read a book "burn" by Daniel Madison and I think those gimmick are good for street magic. But I have a problem.

so yeha i took me sometime to make the gimmicks to so i found out that if the cards are three centimeter above the top of the flame that were it works the best.
Look up to page 7 on the burn pdf ans you'll see the second image do it like this ( i do it a bit closer but you'll find the right way)

try using candles instead of a lighter....

how do i put this. i just let the flame "lick"the cards. cuz if you hold it for too long, you'll get really burnt cards that you don't want. just like, slowly move the card above the flame, don't let the flame concentrate on one spot too long.

If you think that it is something you will use, then yes. It's really good if you take the time it deserves and build some cool gimmicks, endless possiblites.
