Iphone: TapTap TapTap Revenge, TapTap TapTap Reveenggee *TapTap Revenge Theme song playing* *Notification comes up saying "I Do!", with 2 choises Deny and accept, Bayme accidentally taps Deny*
Danny: I now pronounce you two Awesome! You may tap the Screen *Iphones Battery goes dead*
Bayme: *Starts Crying* i was just about to finish the last song on the Expert level, i now have to start over again, NOOOOOO! Says to Iphone: Dont worrie i have my Mac with me we are going to be alright, yes, ill just recharge you....
*Starts to move forward and backward like a mad person* *The whole curch is silent, they sit there for 5 hours until the battery is up and running again, Bayme starts playing again* TapTap TapTap Reveengeee, TapTap....

First off its an iPod Touch not an "itouch" *touches eye*
An iPod Touch has the ability to send texts using an App but only through wifi obviously.
The Edge network is not almost the same, especially on the new 3GS. 3G networking is quite fast not to mention the fact that if you tether your iPhone to your computer the connection is basically slow wifi.
As far as opening up the phone to other carriers all reports and articles are rumors and should be regarded as such. It is pretty well known Apple offered verizon the iPhone and Verizon flipped them the bird. Basically its due to the iPhone using a sim card and not being CDMA based. Apple would never water down an experience just to go to another carrier. Although at and t has dropped the ball on supporting tethering and mms from a business stand point theres no way they could let this go. It'd be a joke.
I will say i've run the app on both the 3G and 3GS and the processor seems to kick in while running this app helping its smoothness and cutting down on bugs and crashes.
In saying that, I really have not had the best luck with this app. I say luck because thats what it seems. Quite honestly i would say this app only works, generously 15% of the time. The other times it's just a downer to my routine and a beyond awkward moment.
Where does my general iPhone knowledge come from?
I happen to work in the high volume per squarefoot Apple Store in the world. Roosevelt Field in Garden City NY. Been a specialist for 8 months now and am one of the top sales people in the store.

Same here, its buggy and only works on occasion. I really hope they update it to smooth it out
I'd just like to add to this that in Canada, Rogers is the sole carrier for the iPhone. And while that's the case currently, it's only because they're the only Canadian carrier to have a network that supports the iPhone. However, Bell and Telus (who are competitors) are teaming up to put a new wireless network in place to replace their current (aging) one; this network would be more than capable of running the iPhone. Thus, there is word in the business world that when this new network is up and running (supposed to be around the first quarter of 2010), and when the Rogers/Apple exclusive contract runs out, that these other carriers will also carry the iPhone (apparently with other options that Rogers doesn't give you--no more 3-year required contract as the only way to get an iPhone).
Just added that so the Canadian users can get some country specific information, too.
Also...although I like the idea behind this app, I'm not a big fan of introducing technology in this way into my magic. So I'll pass for now, but I'm happy to see that there's some people thinking creatively about how to incorporate technology into their magic.
