I think it's a pretty good book. It does repeat some of his previously published material, though, so if you've got a lot of that you may be disappointed in that.

I haven't purchased any of his previous work so judging on that is it worth the money and also how hard are the gimmicks to make in general

Very much worth it. The gimmicks are not very difficult, just occasionally time consuming.

Oops I kinda forgot but in your opinion what is the strongest piece/s in the book? And also how strong are the pieces generally e.g. Really strong, gets great reactions, weak?
Thanks again much appreciated

I'm afraid your question is flawed. The strength of a piece comes from the performer, not the piece. His methods are all workers, though, so they all have the potential to be powerful as long as you come up with a good presentation.

Yes that is very much true and now I know how my question was flawed. But I was asking about your personal preference of all the effects which one would you perform the most considering you gave a strong presentation and which ones are the most practical? Also, although the majority of the impact of the effect relies on presentation some rely on effect aswell. For example if you were to do a borrowed signed coin bend with a strong presentation, it would hit way harder than an average card trick with a really strong presentation

Thanks for your help.

I disagree entirely with the line I have bolded for several different reasons which are not really part of this discussion. However, a strong card trick is a strong card trick. A strong coin bend is a strong coin bend. I have card tricks that are, on the surface, basic but I can turn into something much larger. I am quite proud of my coin bend as it always hits hard. It really does come down to how well the person can present it.

I think his Broken Wings/Beast device and the partner mind reading are the most interesting to me therefore the ones that I've paid the most attention to. I honestly wasn't reading the book for tricks, but for insights into how Dee thinks. I have plenty of tricks so I don't worry about learning new ones. What I care about is how a professional paranormal styled entertainer does his thing - that way I can adapt some of it for my own purposes as I am likewise a paranormal styled entertainer.

Beast is V2 of Broken Wings. He teaches the Broken Wings version in Deep Shadows, but I find it's still quite good. I won't tell you how it changes for Beast, but I may actually prefer Broken Wings.
