its hand mucking. you can do it with as many cards as you want but the most I have seen is 5 by paul wilson and others

Im not sure of any text that contain it but Tony Giorgio has a dvd out on hand mucking/switches out. Its called the Ultimate Work and its a 2 dvd set. He is arguably the best/knowledgeable person on the subject. They are worth checking out.

Maybe the other memebers know of book sources or any other dvd sources

Hand Mucking.

Pick up "Gambling Protection Series" by Steve Forte, or "Darwin Ortiz on Card Cheating".

Also, like UncleMings stated, Tony Giorgio has some DVDs on mucking.

Also, the most I've seen is a whole deck :) I think a cooler could constitute as 'mucking'.

Both are good but I didnt recommend them because they really dont teach but beautiful examples of mucking are in there. also Richard Turners The Cheat is awsome also.

You know Robert. I never really though about a cooler being a form of mucking. Brings up an interesting discussion. I would ask this question at the Cafe but it would just start a war in the Gambling spot lol.

I don't think that a cooler would count as mucking, really. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that mucking is the switching of one card or hand for another. Switching out the entire deck is a bit beyond that idea.

Sorry I couldn't post earlier (not that my reply was missed or anything).

But yes that is hand mucking. For pretty good teaching on the subject, I suggest you pick up Darwin Ortiz's Cardshark. The book costs about $45 but it is one of the very best books on gambling demos and routines. You should definitely check it out. It truly is a great book.

Hope this helped a bit.

cardshard is an awsome book. it was one of my first books I picked up. but If i recall and excuse me if im wrong. Its 530 am NYC time and I had about 15 segrams 7 on the rocks at the bar I work at but I dont recall mucking being covered in the book.

If I am wrong im srry Suhaas. But I do agree its an awsome book. The one handed poker deal is one of my fav effects. I have heard rumors the book would be discontinued soon but couldnt confirm this at all.

Basically anything by Darwin Ortiz is a great referance with gambling routines.

There are no teachings of hand mucking in 'Cardshark' or 'Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table'. They are not an easy thing to pull off, and aren't really needed for what you're trying to demonstrate. There is one hand muck that I would use in a demonstration, and that is the MacMillan Switch. Jason teaches it in full detail right here on this site.

I know what you mean about the Gambling Spot :p They pretty much flame anybody that's not a grifter.

I'm not sure whether a cooler is mucking or not but it seems logical. If you hold out one card for a few rounds and then switch it in, sounds the same as holding out a whole deck for a few rounds and switching it in.

Yes, that book is very very good. Along with "Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table" you can pretty much go out and do strictly gambling demonstrations professionally. With enough practice and dedication of course ;)

Darwins stuff is awsome. But not for the weekend magician lol.

I have been searching for it and At the card table is discontinued :( when I do find it on ebay or somthing they are asking for a lot of money for the book.

I snatched one up on ebay a couple months ago for $45. I had great timing on it, and found Cardshark on Amazon for $40.

They are amazing. Even though the DVDs are each about the price of a book, they are definitely worth it.
