How to Fan

Hey all,

I would like to learn how to fan cards well. You know, each card spread evenly, fan is large enough for everyone to see, etc. However, I haven't been able to find a good resource for this. Could anyone recommend something?

Jerry "The Flourishman" Cestkowski's contributions to Xtreme Beginnerz Volume 1 are extremely informative. Also, Andrei Jikh has some good material on Genesis Volume 1. I would avoid anything older for this kind of stuff (Capaso Casino's Back to Basics, Jeff McBride's The Art of Card Manipulation, for example), not because they're bad, but just because they don't go into as much detail on fanning as the more modern flourish artists.

The best resource on theory11 for this would be Genesis v1 - which not only has an extensive section on fanning, but also 30+ other moves specifically intended for those just getting started in cardistry. It's important to get those fundamentals down correctly from the start, and Andrei does a great job of explaining each from multiple angles in great detail.
