theory11 — Magic Tricks & the World's Finest Playing Cards

I lost my layman's eyes

I completely understand how you feel. It is not the easiest thing to go through but there is a method of going through it to make it more enjoyable. When I see a close up show and the magician does a double lift I can catch it most of the time… I catch the move but I do my best not to think out what that does. So what if he does a double, I don't follow through in my mind where he puts it. If he double's the 7 of diamonds and then turns the double over and place it on the table I don't think about that not really being the 7. Get it? I just relax and enjoy.

I certainly hope I've helped at least a bit,

I remember one point where I also lost my laymen eyes. Bad thing about this is that effects that fools magicians, majority of the time are complex and difficult to follow for laymen, hence the paradox of the more you learn, the less entertaining you become.

A solution I have always to have found work was to take a break from magic, and perhaps take up another hobby to compliment your magic.
