I know that Zach is very popular to most members of theory 11, but I was just looking back at one of his videos and found something that really stuck out for me. I'm a student in high-school and when I saw this video I think I changed the way that I will spend the rest of high-school and that's being more creative and not letting the negatives of school hold me down from what I want to do.

This is for anyone who hasn't seen it yet or is a new magician. This has probably been shared on the forums before, but I thought why not.

Creativity is the life's blood for any and all artists, including performers. This does not mean we need to rush out and come up with a new effect, just a new spin on the classics. This is how we learn the art of being a showman; we learn to create a story line and insert effects as punctuations to that story.

Being in High School you have a ton of amazing resources that can be exploited; that's how Franz Harary got started, using the art and theatrical department as well as guys in wood & metal shop to build effects that he'd use at football & basketball games, pep rallies, etc. So think about this if stage is the area that interests you most.

Get involved with theater as well as art, it will help you in so many ways; especially acting and learning how to speak properly and move in a more elegant manner on stage. But you'll also discover how to write out a scene so you can create "Magic" rather than "doing tricks". . . Take a look at this classic Copperfield piece

this is an excellent example of how magic is used to punctuate a story. . . it is "art"

Yes, you can do the same thing with smaller magic but it's up to you to become the creator.
