Several years ago, I remember reading a letter Teller wrote to a kid, just starting out in magic.

I don't remember a lot about the contents of the letter, just that (maybe?) Teller encouraged him to start with a short act (I want to say, six minutes), and to work his way up from there.

At the end of the letter, Teller included a really wonderful list of classic magic books that he said (again, as I remember it) he returned to, again, and again, for inspiration.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I thought I had read it on this very forum. However, many, many, MANY Google searches later, I'm no longer sure.

If this sounds familiar, and you know where I might find it online, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Thanks for your time!

I believe I was the one that posted it a long time ago.

I found it on Google Groups (Usenet). The original post still there

That's it. That is exactly what I was looking for. And, even better than I remembered it.

Thank you so much.
