I'm looking for effects that will entertain multiple family members at once. We're all based in different regions across the country. I'm proficient with cards and would like to visit other options. I have a budget topping at $300 give or take. (I in no way need to sirens that much unless the effect is ridiculous) Suggestions?

Have a look at Vanishing Inc., I believe they recently released a video with five effects designed for Zoom. I think Theory 11 did something similar, as well.

Although video provides an opportunity to do things beyond what you can do in person (using out of frame movement for ditches and loads), the easiest thing is to look at your current effects and decide what works over video.

If you are sitting, things that I think would work well are:

Packet Tricks (especially those with kicker ending like different colored cards)
Wildcard
Matrix
Coins Through Table
Cups & Balls
Sponge Balls (different routines than the standard "in your hands" multiplication like Benson Bowl)
Card to Fruit (or other location like wallet, nested boxes, etc)
Triumph
Open Travelers / Invisible Palm
Princess Card Trick (works for everyone in the audience)
Open Prediction
Ninja Rings

The key is to remove any audience participation which requires them to hold props. Also, take a look at Tamariz's Verbal Magic, there are a lot of routines designed to work over the phone or radio that work well over Zoom.

It all depends on what you want to do. Here are my favorite effects to do for a video call that involve the person on the other side of the screen to some extent.

The Love Ritual by Woody Aragon - Used by Penn & Teller, Justin Flom and others this is one of the all-time most popular magic effects on the planet at the moment.

Sunrise by Patrick Redford - This is a solid piece of propless/psychological mentalism that you can apply to performing on the phone or on a video chat.

Some very strong magic has come from Adrian Lacroix recently. Penn & Teller used Virtual Triumph to close their last television special.

Isolated by Adrian Lacroix (The most perfect Acaan I have ever seen)

Remote Miracle by Tango - Mr. Tango teaches an impressive card divination here.

Open by Marcus Eddie - This is a practical open prediction for walkaround and it works great for video chats.

Tequila Huslter - This is a which hand routine you can do over the internet.

Rick Lax teaches a virtual poker deal here

Kirigami by Max Maven is the perfect virtual effect.

Nick Locapo teaches an add a number routine as well as a multiple card selection here in his lecture.

The books you need are Verbal Magic by Juan Tamariz

and Impuzzibilities get all 8 books

If there's other stuff you want to do let me know.

Hello everyone!
If you're interested in performing virtual magic, I just released a new effect, the "Virtual Impossible Prediction".
I invented it for personal shows, but eventually, I published it. You can perform it for any kind of audience and you will have a great time when you perform it. If you are familiar with the master prediction it's the same mindset but the method is different, much clean & easy!
You can find it on the marketplace.

Respectfully,
Tristan
