I just saw the announcement on the Genii forums. Martin Gardner, the eminent science and math writer, author, magician and skeptic has passed away.

His legacy includes bestsellers such as "Mathematics, Magic and Mystery", "Martin Gardner's Mathematical Games", "Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science" and "The Annotated Alice". Another great intellect passes on.

It is a sad day, not only for magic, but for the world. He was one of my favorite authors, not only in magic, but in recreational mathematics and logic.

dang, still cannot accept the truth.................

This is, indeed, very sad news. One of the thinkers of magic has performed the ultimate vanish. May his family find peace and solace.

Martin Gardner, I do not know him however I am deeply sad to hear a fellow of the magic world has left us.
It is as if a brother has died.

One less magician I can meet along my road. So many stories, hardships, theory's, slights, manipulations, and tricks lost to the world.

If there is another side and I pray there is, enjoy it there. Rest In Peace Martin Gardner.
