Firstly does it have to be five cards, the number itself seems a little forced. Basically my belief is that either everyone should get a card, the effect could feel that everyone gets a card or have a reason to only have a determined number of cards selected. And in each of these scenarios my the whole effect is different. In the case of the first two cases the methodology is fairly similar, just find interesting ways to reveal cards.
Assuming you are using five selections with a card toss (I assume you mean shooting a card out of the deck) you only need to reveal three more cards. I would use something like a top change to change the card which was tossed into another selection. Using the new revealed card something like Bill Simon's proficy move to reveal the next two and straight into card to wallet for the final reveal.
I am a huge fan if the spectator finds their own card(s) plot so something simple like either a Vernon substitute transfer, a multiple top change or for4for switch can work miracles. I usually break my multiple card finds into groups of 3 or 4 cards at once. For example if I have eight people all selecting one card I have them controlled to the top in order. I would proceed to double undercut the first four to the bottom and go into a Vernon substitute transfer to make the first four spectators select their own cards. Following that I would use either a multiple top change or a for4for switch to switch the first four selections for the second group. However I would reveal that they have changed straight away (it would be too obvious that the whole routine is based on switching cards in and out) I would hand them to a spectator from group one or place them on the table. After the second group have selected 'their cards' I would reveal them naming every card (after secretly switching in group ones cards) out loud so that hopefully at least two spectators from group one realise that I have found their cards yet again. If nobody reacts I will look confused and ask the members of the first group if these were their cards, once I get a confirmation I would instantly ask the second group to name their cards one at a time while someone else deals the cards face up from either the table or into my hand.
Something I use to do a lot when I was working a lot of close up was use some form of switch to force (or magically change the cards into) a four of a find (usually aces or queens) and proceed to do standard magic effects that everyone else does (ACR, Biddle trick, Inverson, Sandwich (or collectors) transpositions, triumph etc.) with the four cards rather than just one. The audiences instantly understand that it is much hard to control four cards than one and it also gives a reason to use four cards. I feel that by using the four of a kind the effects are much clearer in the eyes of the audience as it is a definitive those are the only four cards in play.
