I think you could make this a great bit of comedy in an actual show but you'd need to really work on the scripting and blocking things so the nerf gun isn't seen until the very last minute. . . there's even room for a few other sight gags that might be funny.

I completley agree There is so much you can do with this, JDENredden i think you should really doing something with this work on the scripting and you will have a great picece of comedy
I may develop it further, but I have a different/actual bullet catch Im working on, this was apart of that development, seeing how hard it is to actually catch stuff.
