New ish to magic, technique advice please

Hi guys,

Its my first time posting here. I’m getting back into magic after a 5 year break. I’ve just noticed on my push off double I seem to be crimping the bottom card slightly, is this a mistake in my technique, a bad positioning on my mechanics grip, or is it to be expected with the way my thumb flex’s for the push off?
