I was wondering which card controls were the most effective when performing, or whether it is better to use a pass such as; herman, turnover or spread. I usually perform to small crowds of 1-4 people!

I use a variation on the miller cascade control a lot, but usually I do my variation on the turnover pass, so it is basically invisible.
I've always said this and always will. Just learn a classic pass and practice it like crazy. Nothing looks better then openly putting a card into the deck and seemingly do nothing. I don't like double undercut because it shows you shuffling the cards around right after returning their card. A pass is the best in my opinion.

The best control is the one used in the best context of the routine.
With that being said I use the classic pass more often than not.

You gotta learn how to cull its very easy but extremely invisble i would say got kostya kimlats roadrunner cull dvd
