i was wondering how would u feel if u bought an expensive magic dvd, and then realised that some magicians pass the secrets in these dvds to other magicians. So technically these magicians did not pay for these effects but learnt them from magician friends who did, and u paid good amount of money to learn these. how would u feel? would u oppose of this? Im not saying im against it but i wanna hear you guys opinion on this. thanks :)

Well, young man, I may pass the work behind MY material to my friends, stuff which may appear published at another date, but I wouldn't really pass the secrets to somebody else's work to somebody else, UNLESS I trusted the integrity of the person and knew it was for research reasons rather than straight up performance.

Good question, BTW.

Yeah, I agree with Chris, It's one thing when you're having a chat and go;

"Yo, Check dis Bludgin" *Does awesome trick* "This is all you have to do, look!"

Or if you say,

"I'm working on a new bill penetration, Ghost bills doesn't work like this does it?"

But yeah, When it's your own material it's no bother - I've got loads of Chris' stuff on my mac and he's got loads of mine on his PC! :D

i tried to get a dog to work for me once. It just sniffed around for a bit and bit my hand.

After that, I decided I just wanted to work like a hard working human.

I think he means, other magicians who learned from people who bought the DVD, not the creator's friends...

Honestly, I'm beyond caring. I strongly dislike the act, but I'm not about to unleash hate on anyone who does so. It's not worth the time - I know I've done the right thing, and I know that I'll perform it better and get better reactions than those guys ever will. Magic is so much about performance and about the audience - completely, in fact - so in such rare cases, I can allow myself some indulgence.

Oh, I knew the question, I just wanted to illustrate a couple of different angles.

The actual sharing of information as if it's some kind of bartering tool is sick, obviously. Anyone with the compulsion could check the first few posts I ever made on this forum to see my opinion on that!

You're absolutely right.
