Questions about Shims

hey guys, i'm trying to find shims around in nyc, but i'm not exactly sure what to look for... does any of u know where i can find shims i can use for like UV, or puttin in cards? also, should it be steel or tin? does thickness matter? :X

Twinky, I get the stuff to shim cards from one of those badge reels. The reel looks like this or something close to it.

You can probably find them at a Staples or Homedepot, if you are internationally located any store that is an office supply store.

Anyway, break it open and you will find a long strip of metal. This acts as the spring that retracts the cord. Basically use that stuff to shim your cards but note different reels may have different thicknesses.

do u think that would be wide enough for a UV gimmick?

I am not familiar with the UV gimmick but if it is a pre bought gimmick I would suggest you by one dissect it and find out for yourself.
