The Royal Road to Card Magic , though considered as a beginners book, is one of the classics and in my opinion should owned by every card magician.

Although part of it is outdated and to be frank the effects aren't amazing, it still has a lot of good information.

If you're a beginner, definitely get it. If you're intermediate and up, I still recommend it to have for reference but its not one of those musts.

Here's my review:

//Review Part I//

//Review Part II//

I had forgotten I hadn't posted this on Theory11... I'll do that now.

But in case you couldn't tell by the review- the book is basically the Bible for beginners card magic, and you need to have it. It'll teach you all the foundations, and even if you use none of the effects from it, if you learn most of the sleights in there, you will be able to conquer basically any intermediate effect the world can throw at you with a fair amount of ease.

After you've worked your way through that, get "Expert at the Card Table".

Hope I could help!
