As long as the submission itself is posted before the deadline, it is eligible. While in the process of judging, we used the search feature on Instagram to search images with the hashtag #theory11 and that picture was up 30 minutes before the deadline so we counted it. Hopefully that clears things up!

It's preferred to post the link in response to the thread to 100% guarantee that we find it, but it would also be unfair to not count it even though it was posted on Instagram before the deadline. It was also the winner's first post on the forums, so there may have been complications.
